MICHAEL V. CHANDRA

The Almoner of Bayly Welfare Suva since 1989 Michael V.Chandra was promoted to Senior Almoner in 1999 and is now responsible for the Suva, Lautoka and Labasa centres.

He is a member of Poverty Alleviation Grant Committee and served as member and warden of Saint Matthews Anglican Church. He is also a Synod member and member of Saint Christopher's Board and vestry of Saint Christopher's. He has held leadership positions in religious groups as well as social and charitable organizations.

He received the Fiji Association of Social worker and non-government organization award and also served on the Board of Housing Assistance Relief Trust Fund and Fiji New Zealand Education Trust.

In 1993 he was awarded a certificate by Lions Club International and Fiji Police Department for distinguished service in the community.
