Joe SinghMr Joseph S. Singh, better known as Joe Singh, was appointed a trustee in 1995 and is currently the Chairman of the JP Bayly Trust. After a career of over 50 years in property development and land management with the N.Z. Ministry of Works; Government of Fiji ( Lands Department ) and the Carpenter Group, Mr Singh is now retired but provides consultancy to selected clients.

He has served on several Boards of Directors, both in the private and public sector. He has also served on the Constitution Review Commission, Review Committee on Company Income Tax; Review Panel for Value Added Tax (VAT) and as the first Chairman of the Valuers Registration Board. Until the year 2000 he was on the Board of Housing Authority.

He was a member of the Board of Posts and Telecommunications Limited and in 1999 served as Chairman of Telecom Fiji Limited to oversee the transition of Telecom Fiji Limited from a wholly owned government corporation to a publicly listed company.

He is a past Chairman of The Trade Standards Council of Fiji, Fiji Islands Trade and Investment Bureau and a past member of the Board of Vodafone Fiji Limited, Fiji Land Corporation Limited and several subsidiaries of this investment company.

Currently he is a member of the Council of The National University of Fiji and chairs the Council’s Sub-Committee on Human Resources. Mr. Singh is also a Trustee and Board member of the Chevalier Youth Trust Board.

He is a registered valuer and land economist by profession was the first President of the Fiji Institute of Valuers. Mr. Singh was bestowed the honor of the Officer of the Order of Fiji (OF) in the 2005 New Year’s honour list and is also a Justice of Peace.

Mr. Singh is married to Caroline and they have 7 adult children and 8 grandchildren here in Fiji and overseas.
