JOEL SAHAI, MF, JP

The former Corporate Affairs Manager of British American Tobacco Fiji, he is Chairman of the Hotels Licensing Board, a Trustee of the Fiji Blind Sports Association, Suva Bowling Club, Suva Jaycees Trust and the J .P .Bayly Trust.

Has also served as Director and Chairman of the Board of Maritime & Ports Authority of Fiji, President of the SPCA Fiji, President and Chairman of the Hibiscus Festival Association, Chairman of the CWM Hospital Board of Visitors, President of Fiji Jaycees and Chairman of its Senate, President of Suva Bowling Club and Defence Club and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors, Suva Grammar School.

Mr. Sahai has been a member of the Consumer Council of Fiji, National Road Safety Council, Transport Control Board and held leadership positions in several other social and charitable organizations.

He was awarded the Outstanding Young Person of Fiji in 1983, conferred a Member of the Order of Fiji in the 1998 New Year's Honours, appointed a Justice of the Peace for Fiji in 1999 and is also a Commissioner for Oaths.
