Mr Singh has been a Trustee of J P Bayly Trust since 5th August 1994.

After a career of over 40 years in property development and management with N.Z. Ministry of Works; Government of Fiji ( Lands Department ) and the Carpenter Group, Mr Singh is now retired but provides consultancy to selected clients.

He has served on several Boards of Directors, both in the private and public sector. He has also served on the Constitution Review Commission, Review Committee on Company Income Tax; Review Panel for Value Added Tax (VAT) and as the first Chairman of the Valuers Registration Board. Until the year 2000 he was on the Board of Housing Authority. He was a member of the Board of Posts and Telecommunications Limited and in 1999 served as Chairman of Telecom Fiji Limited to oversee the transition of Telecom Fiji Limited from a wholly owned government corporation to a publicly listed company.

Mr Singh continues his service to the people of Fiji, and presently is the Chairman of The Fiji Islands Trade and Investment Bureau; The Maritime and Ports Authority of Fiji; Deputy Chairman Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited and on the Board of Directors of Fiji Investment Corporation Limited, Vodafone Fiji Limited, and the Council of Fiji Institute of Technology (FIT). Mr Singh is a former President of the Suva Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Pacific Islands Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Vice-President ACP Countries Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Presently he is the Chairman of Pacific British Chamber of Commerce. In 1999 he was one of the driving force in the establishment of the Fiji Institute of Directors and has been its President since then. Development of education is close to his heart and has served on the Board of Governors of Corpus Christi Teachers Training College, and the Parent/Teacher Associations of Stella Maris and Marist Brothers High School and as a Rotarian he has served in several capacities as President of the Rotary Club of Suva, Charter President Rotary Club of Suva Peninsula Sunset, District Governors' Representative and as Assistant Governor of Rotary District - 9920. For his services to Rotary International he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow in 1999.

Joe Singh, as he is affectionately known, coined the phrase "WAIDINA BANANA" which became a national household term during his days as Sports commentator, particularly soccer. He pioneered the live broadcast of Golf in Fiji. He has served as the Secretary of Fiji Golf Association and subsequently as President, he reorganized the Association to become the National Golf Association of Fiji.

Mr Singh is married to Caroline and they have 7 adult children and 8 grandchildren here in Fiji and overseas.
